The Mitten

Today was a fun day filled with the letter M! We began the day by doing our weekly letter Smartboard lesson. Although this is something we do each week for every new letter we learn, we took today's lesson up a notch! Your kids can spell!!!!!
Check it out:)

All I did was sound out the words, and your kids spelled them! I'm a proud teacher.

For the rest of the day we did activities using another wonderful M word...Mitten.

We began by using our fine motor skills to lace up our mitten. This was not an easy task, but everyone did it!

Then it was time to make our white mittens bright and colorful (so it won't get lost in the snow).

Then for our story today, we read the book "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. After nap we reread the book and did a retelling of the story in our own mittens.

The mole found the mitten first and climbed in.

Next, the snowshoe hare joined in.

The prickly hedgehog followed.

Then the owl

And the badger

The fox

Then the bear.

Finally the tiny mouse climbed in and snuggled up on the bears nose.

The end!!
