Little Pilgrims

This week we learned the true reason for Thanksgiving.

The pilgrims left their home in search of a new land and freedom.

We learned how different America was when the Pilgrims landed in Plymoth.  Life was so different for the Pilgrims with no roads, computers, cars, phones, lights, etc.

We have so much to thank them for!

 After we made our Pilgrim self portraits, we made Mayflowers!

Each student found an object at home to recycle into a boat.

First we had to add sails.  Some sails could be stuck into the object.

 Some had to be stuck with clay into the bottom.

 Then everyone drew their Mayflowers.

 Finally, it was time to set sail!!

 All of our boats sailed, so we logged our findings.

 We are also thankful for this Star!
