Today we learned that there are some animals that are totally different animals when they are born...what?!? That's crazy, they say.
We started this morning by learning the life cycle of a frog. After we watched a video and went over the phases, we made ourselves a book.
Egg. Tadpole. Froglet. Frog.
Then this afternoon we moved on to learn about a butterfly's life cycle. Of course we began by reading Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, then we did a Smartboard lesson to help us better understand the cycle. Then we made a reminder bracelet.
First a white bead for the egg.
Then a red bead for the caterpillar'a head,
And three green beads for the body.
Next a brown bead for the cocoon.
Finally a fancy bead to signify the beautiful butterfly.
Tada!!!
Make sure to ask your child about these life cycles!
