Names, Colors, and Patterns OH MY!

These Stars have been hard at work this month!
Name recognizing and writing have been a few skills that we have really put some time into.
Here are Lily and Jeb using their fine motor skills to cover her name in stickers.

We have begun sorting our names by the letters in them.
Do you have an I in your name?

 What about an E?
Then we went on a search in a bowl of letters to find the correct letters to build our names.

We now know all about Primary and Secondary colors too!
We know that Red, Blue, and Yellow are Primary colors and are used to make all other colors in the rainbow...these are Secondary colors!

Here we are doing a little mixing to see what Primary colors we can combine to make Secondary colors.

Next it was on to creating and naming patterns.
We learned to name patterns using letters, then we worked in groups to create the assigned pattern with apples.

Here we are with more apples!
September is apple month in our class, so of course we had to taste the yummy fruit.
Time for a test...

Everyone got a bite of a yellow, green and red apple to try.

Then we put it to a vote...
Our class likes red apples the best!
Finally, we learned about recipes and measurement.
To show how to measure and follow a recipe, we made homemade applesauce.
Everyone had a hand in making this yummy treat.

After following the recipe, we practiced sequencing by putting the steps of making applesauce in the correct order.
 Time to taste!!
We LOVED it!
 GOOOOO WABBBITTTSSS!!
PreK A showed some Wabbit pride by wearing red and white and cheering loudly at the pep rally.
Finally, it's time to introduce our first Star of the Week, Mr. Jake.
This sweet man shared some yummy Jello that he brought in a Jack-o-Lantern because his name starts with J.
He even helped his friends open their snack.
Thank you thank you Jake!
