Where's Winter?

We got a tiny taste of winter last week, and boy was it cold!
As Winter blew in, we got our classroom ready for the elements.

Our bears are warm and cozy as they hibernate in the HSS cave.
We talked all about Winter, and what we can expect for this season.
Then, while on the letter M, we read the book, "The Mitten" by Jan Bret.
In this story a little boy drops his white mitten in the snow.  While it is lost many animals take up residence inside to stay warm.  There is no way in real life that these big animals could ALL fit in this mitten at once, but wouldn't you know that it only took a tiny mouse to make the bear sneeze!  All of the animals go flying out, and the little boy finds his mitten floating through the air....and quite stretched out.

We did a fun journal page that says, "My mitten is so big a ____ could fit in it".
All of this talk of winter brought on the snow!
We missed a few activities because of it, but it sure was fun to play in.
Now...Where'd Winter Go?
