100th Day in PreKA!

Oh what fun it is to celebrate the 100th day of school!!
It is so hard to believe that these sweet kiddos have been at Holy Souls for 100 days.
It seems like yesterday that they cam to PreK as sweet little babies, and now look how smart, creative, and wonderful students they have become!

We did a fun activity this morning where each student was given the number 100, and told to use their imagination to create a picture.

Look at the great creativity!
Savannah made a firetruck              Avey made the Easter Bunny              Emma made a tractor

Waverly made a Pokemon workout center               Liza made a wheelchair

Wyatt made Larry the Cucumber           Jonathan made a pirate ship

Nash made the sun rising and the moon setting                   Heston made a car

Vada, Addi, and Jane all made snowmen, but look how each girl used the 1 as a different part of the picture!
Luke made a door with a key           Joseph made a mail truck             Sawyer made a stoplight

Winters made scissors                  Lulu made a car
 I am so impressed!
After rest time we had delicious 100th day cupcakes

Our last 100 activity for the day was fun building centers.  Each center had 100 items to build with.

Everyone worked well together and had a great time!

Here are a few snippets from our building center fun.
(I'm sorry for my annoying voice:)

Make sure to check each students folder for a yummy 100th day treat, and ask them about their fun day!

Pet Party in PreK

This week we have continued our unit about neighborhoods.
We have already covered the people, their jobs, and the tools/machines they need to do their jobs.
Time to move on to the Animals of the Hood!

We started by learning about how the location of the neighborhood plays a very important role in the animals that are in it.  For example, if you live in the mountians you may see bears and bobcats.  If you live near the ocean you will see seagulls, lizards, and crabs.
Once we discussed the wild animals that live around us, it was time to talk about our beloved pets.

First we had to learn reasons an animal would be a good pet.
Then we each got an animal and had to decide and share why it would be a good pet or a bad pet.

After sorting the animals into good and bad pets we got to introduce our very own!
The kids LOVED sharing information about their animals with the class.

To finish up our pet week we talked about what it takes to care for a pet, and we did a journal about our dream pets.  Ask your child what their dream pet would be and why!

Happiest of Birthdays this week to our friend Joseph!!
