This week we learned the Amazing letter...
Each week we will introduce a new letter, come up with a list of words beginning with that letter, and do a journal page of something starting with the letter.
Look at these great pictures!
We are working on drawing an entire picture rather than just one object, using the correct colors, and trying our best.
As the year goes on the students will begin trying to write the words themselves by phonetically sounding them out.
We learned that A is a vowel, so it makes 2 sounds and is in many words.
It is also in most of our names!
To complete our letter A journal page we made an apple.
This week we also talked all about patterns. We now know how to recognize and name them.
The kids were split up into groups, given cut out pictures of objects that start with A, and asked to work together to create a pattern.
Everyone worked so well together, and came up with some great A Patterns!
We also made pattern bracelets with apples.
Finally, to end our week we made another yummy apple snack.
We made our own version of no bake apple pies.
First we crushed up some graham crackers for the "crust".
Then we scooped in a spoonful of apple pie filling, and poured the graham cracker crumbs on top.
Finally topped it off with some whipped cream!
YUMM!
Also this week we had our first Star of the Week,
Miss Vada!
Thank you for sharing the delicious Vanilla Wafers for your V snack!
This was her special Star Board full of adorable pictures of her friends and family.
