This week we have continued with our "Neighborhood" theme, but this time we're talking about the people that help make it run.
We have been talking all about different jobs, the tools people use in their work, and the clothing workers wear that helps us to determine their profession.
Today we had fun with firemen.
Each student was given a group of shapes, and asked to try and create a firetruck out of them. This is a puzzle of sorts, and the students have to use their spacial skills to create the firetruck.
Once everyone had a chance to figure out the puzzle on their own, it was demonstrated whole group how to correctly create the firetruck.
Cutest firemen I ever did see!!
Also, we had our favorite visitor, Mrs. Susan from the Museum of Discovery.
This time she brought a rooster!
First, we learned ALL about birds. We learned which birds don't use their wings to fly, the types of nests the different birds make, that birds come in ALL sizes, their special makeup that helps them fly, and much more!
When we learned about eggs, Mrs. Susan showed us an ostrich egg...look how big!!
Finally, we got to get up close and personal with the rooster, and feel how soft his feathers are.
Look at the wonder in the kiddos eyes!
I must also mention that sweet Sully lost his first tooth this weekend!!
Congrats Sully!
Also, I must introduce our beautiful Star, Allie.
Thank you so much Allie for the delicious Angel food cake, and Animal crackers!
