The Little Red Hen

This week we've been talking all about helping, both at home and at school. We came up with a list of great ways that we enjoy helping:

To go along with this theme, we did a mini unit on the wonderful story, "The Little Red Hen". This is not only a great story about helping, but it makes for a great lesson on comparing and contrasting. We read 3 different versions of "The Little Red Hen" throughout the week, and charted all of the similarities and differences of the stories.

It was such a fun way to discover that there are so many different versions of the same story!

Then to conclude this mini unit, we made our very own Little Red Hens. These took some major fine motor skills, so I am extremely impressed with the way they turned out...way to go PreK!
