Happy Helpers

I love having a class full of Happy Helpers!
This week we discussed all of the different ways that we can help at home and at school.
We went over the "Good Helper Rules" and signed them to say that we will all be good happy helpers.

Then we helped one another out when we worked in pairs to sort and graph some candy corn.
First we had to sort a bag of candy corn into 3 sets.

Then we had to work together to graph each set to see how many we had of each type of candy corn.

 We did a great job!!
A great story about helping is the classic tale of, "The Little Red Hen".
In this story no one wants to help The Little Red Hen, so she does all of the work herself to bake a yummy treat.  We read three different versions of the same story, and made a chart as we went comparing and contrasting the three stories.
Ask your child what was different and alike about the stories we read!
Then we made some pretty cute hens that took a lot of concentration and good scissor skills.

Thank you so much to Joseph for being a great helping Star of the Week this week!

We loved the juice, jack o lantern brownies, jolly rancher popsicles, and jelly beans!
