It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Here is a look into some of the Holiday happenings in PreK A.

Last week our reading buddies read us a story about the meaning of the candy cane.  Then we had a blast making candy canes out of beads with their help.

We also decided to give our elf, Gingerbread Flash, some elf friends.

We decorated our classroom windows with festive peppermints.
Then today we celebrated the feast day of St. Nicholas.  We learned how he helped a family in need by throwing a bag of gold coins through their window because he didn't want to be praised for his good deeds.  Now he is celebrated the world around by children placing their shoes outside their door in hopes that St. Nicholas will fill them with goodies.

We had fun putting our shoes outside the classroom today in hopes that St. Nicholas would pay us a visit.

We were happy to discover the yummy treats he left us!

Also today we had a special visitor come to help us get our letters to Santa.

We first had to sign, address, and seal the letters.

Then Jake's dad mailman Tom came to collect the letters and get them on their way to the North Pole!

Thank you so much for your help Mr. Tom!
