How Does a Garden Grow?

We are continuing on with our Living Things unit, and have made it to Plants!

Today we learned all about what plants need to live, and their life cycle.  Once we had those important facts down, we learned the parts of a plant.

It all starts with a seed, and from the seed grows the roots. We learned that these are underground, and help soak up the water and nutrients to the rest of the plant.  

 Next comes a tiny sprout made up of a stem.

 From the stem grows the leaves.  We learned that leaves are super important because they soak up the sun to provide food for the entire plant!

 We had to add a sun in the sky, because light is most important to all plants.

 Finally, a beautiful flower grows!

 Once our plants were complete, we learned about labeling.

This is a great way to show others the parts of the plant, by adding the words next to the part.
