Butterflies!

This post is a huge shout out and thank you to Harrison's sweet grandmother for buying our class the gift of butterflies!

We have had the opportunity to watch 10 butterflies go through the amazing transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. The kids have loved it!!












After the caterpillars ate and ate they began attaching themselves to the top of the containers with a silky thread to begin forming their chrysalises.



Here they are in the chrysalis stage.


I then moved them into their new home, so that when they come out as butterflies there is plenty of flying space. Then we waited...

Today we got 6 butterflies!











Now as we wait for the last 4 we are feeding our new friends some yummy orange slices, and getting to take a close look at these beautiful creatures.
