Each year on March 2nd we celebrate the birth of a legendary author
Dr. Seuss!
We had a week long celebration with all lessons themed around a Dr. Seuss book, and we decorated our class bulletin board with a quote from Horton Hears a Who.
We read There's a Wocket in my Pocket to practice our rhyming skills.
Then we read One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish before doing a lesson on sorting.
Each table was given a different set of manipulatives and asked to work together to sort the items in as many ways as they could.
Some sorted by color
Some by habitat
Some by how the object moves
Some by size and color!
We sorted again using goldfish.
After sorting, we graphed our findings.
Finally, to end the week, we drew one of Dr. Seuss' most famous characters,
The Cat in the Hat.
