Gingerbread Week was a blast!
All week we read different tales of the famous Gingerbread Cookie and charted the similarities and differences between each story.
We began the week with the classic story of the Gingerbread Man.
After reading the book we practiced our sequencing skills by putting in order all of the people or animals the Gingerbread Man ran from before being eaten.
Then we followed a recipe to make gingerbread playdough.
It smelled delicious!
We got to have fun making different gingerbread items like, birds, turtles, snails, and, of course, people.
On Thursday afternoon we woke up to have snack only to find that the Gingerbread Man himself had stolen it! We had to follow his clues to try and catch him to get our snack back.
That silly man took us all over the school!
We finally ended up back in the classroom where we found he had left some of his friends to snack on.
What part of the gingerbread man do you eat first?
Most of our class ate the head first,
but everyone loved their cookie!
Each student made a gingerbread kid of their own to help decorate our room for the holidays.
Everyone did a great job!!
Finally, after reading many stories, making kids of our own, and trying out the cookie everyone drew the type of gingerbread person they would want to be.
Sweet Waverly was a wonderful star this week!
Thank you so much for the delicious Wafers and Whipped cream!
