Happy Birthday...Almost!

As a summer birthday person myself, I know that it can be a bit of a bummer when you don't get to celebrate at school with your class.  That's why in PreK we have a super special group celebration for all of the summer babies.
Say hello to my EIGHT summer birthday buddies:
Madeleine, Finley, Sully, Sawyer, Ollie, Madison, Rhys, and Charlie!

These kiddos' parents came together and sent some delicious snacks for us to enjoy...cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, and juice YUMMO!

I hope everyone has an amazing summer celebrating these sweet kids!

We must also send a special thank you to Madison and her mama for sending this delicious and oh so beautiful cookie cake earlier in the week because she had to leave early on our celebration day.

Living Art

What a cool experience we had on Friday with Mrs. Carolina!
Mrs. Carolina, Alexander's mother, works at UALR where she is a professor and on Friday she brougtt some of her students and their virtual reality technology to share with our class.

Each child was asked to color 2 coloring pages before the UALR students arrived, and when they came our artwork came to life!!!

Look how much fun we had with this!!

How cool is that!?
Thank you thank you Mrs. Carolina!

Mother's Day Picnic

Yay, I finally got my pictures to upload!!!
My intention was to post this on the actual holiday,  but due to technical difficulties it's a bit late...so sorry!

I think we should celebrate these amazing women every day, but we had a blast celebrating a very special holiday with some of our favorite people in the world...our MOMs.
Thank you to all of these beautiful moms for taking the time away from their busy schedules to come picnic and play with us.
We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Surprise!!

Words cannot express how thankful I am for the adorable SURPRISE baby shower that was thrown for me Friday.

Thanks to the amazing parents of my Stars, I walked into my classroom following lunch to this wonderful surprise.
The party was complete with delicious monogrammed petit fours,
a challenging game of "name that baby",
and some adorable gifts.
Sweet Austin's mom is so incredibly talented, and she knitted this amazing blanket!
The students made a wonderful "wish" book for the baby where each student answered some questions, and drew wonderful pictures.
I still cannot believe that everyone pitched in on the beautiful artwork for the nursery.
This meant the world to me, as it is something that I have really been looking forward to!
Finally, the kids got to play a fun game of "pin the paci on the baby".

What a fun day!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you all!
Here is a close up look at the wonderful wish book.
Prepare to laugh and cry all at once!
