Orange

The color we are learning to make, spell, and use this week is orange. SO today we made some orange paint.
Squirt a little red and a little yellow in a bag...

And squish!

We made orange!

Now what does one do with a bag of (redish) orange paint, you might ask?

Write in it...duh!

Sophia made an A!

Great D Will!

Can you see Winn's great B?!

Riley's uppercase A!

This was a very fun way to practice writing all if the letters we've learned!

Also today, our Star Harrison brought his yummy H snack...Honeydew & Honey Graham Crackers (with peanut butter mmmmmmmmm)

Thank you Harrison!!

Family

This week we are discussing families. We are talking about how all families are different in both looks and who makes them up. Some are big, some are small, some live in a house and some in an apartment.

Today the kids got the fun chance to show a picture of their own family. They told us what their family members' names are, what their hair color is, and we tallied how many boys and how many girls there are.

We then learned the poem:
"Some families are big. Some families are small. But I love my family most of all!"
Here is our classroom fanily gallery!

Then we talked about how all families like to do different things for fun together.

I apologize, as this post is long overdue! Last week I challenged my kiddos, not only to see who could sort and graph assorted candy corn, but...could do the task without eating the candy! Both tasks proved to be tricky, but my Stars completed both quite successfully!

First, we sorted...

Then, we graphed...

Yes...these are your PreKers!!! So smart, and I am so proud to say they're mine everyday:)

Our great Star this week is Mr. Harrison!!

And if you get a chance to go in the "big building"...we got to put our work on the wall outside the Library!!

Big Green Monster

Today we read a really great book and did a fun activity with it. We have learned about the color green, how to make it, and how to spell it, so this is the perfect end to our green week!

We began by painting our hands with blue and yellow then mixing it to make green!

Then we read...

We made our own Big Green Monsters in the same order as they appear in the story using the green faces we made with our hands!

You'll have to read it yourself!

Cute Star!!
