Guardian Angel

Today was a day of rememberance for one of the brightest souls I've ever met. Although sweet Mallory was not in our class, that does not mean that she didn't touch every one of our lives in some way. Mallory smiled, said hello, and gave hugs as she walked through our classroom every morning and afternoon. She was a wonderful friend to everyone on the playground, and took any chance she could to love on a friend. If you've seen that smile or felt that love, you know it was contagious. We will all miss that start and end to every day, but we are now so lucky to have her smiling down on us always. Lord please wrap your arms around her family, and we thank you greatly for the time you gave us with this sweet angel.

PreK A will miss you sweet girl.
Wear pink for Mallory!!

Mail Time!

This week we have been talking about what families need, the main one being a home for shelter. We learned what makes a good home, and we explored different homes around the world. Then today we talked about where we live, and why we have addrssses...for mail of course! What better way to learn about mail and our address than to actually mail something?!

First step...homemade postcards. Each student drew his or her own house as the artwork.

Then they all must have a stamp:
And an address:
Then off it goes!
Make sure you check your mail for a special Star delivery!

It's Fun to be Fancy!

To celebrate learning about the letter F this week, we had a Fun Fancy day today!!
Who doesn't love a sharp dressed kid?!

5 Little Pumpkins

First let me apologize, as this post is LONG overdue.

Last week we made it to the number 5!
We learned how to recognize the number, how to write it, and how to count up to 5 objects correctly. Then there is no better way to practice our new math skills in the month of October than with the wonderful poem, The 5 Little Pumpkins.

First we watched and sang to this wonderful rendition of the poem to become familiar with it.

Then we worked very hard to make our own versions of it:

Not only did the pictures turn out wonderfully, but we had to fill in the blanks of the poem on the back by writing the number itself. I must admit I was very impressed with them!

Also, we must give a big shout out to our adorable Star of the Week, Stella Grace! You are a wonderful student and friend, and we thank you for the yummy treats you brought!!
