Cloudy with a Chance

This week we have been talking all about the weather.  As we have gone on we filled out this chart to describe each type of weather.
Then today we read the classic book, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs".
After reading this fun book we did a journal entry about our what food we wish would rain down if we lived in Chewandswallow.
Look how great my Stars did!!

Thankful Stars

With November comes the wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving, and with Thanksgiving comes thankfulness.  We have SO much to be thankful for, and this month we will be talking all about it.  We are all so blessed in so many ways, so we must show how thankful we are for all of our blessings.  To show our appreciation we will be writing a thank you note each week to someone who helps to make our every day brighter.

To start, we wrote our very first thank you note to the wonderful Jansen family.  Sweet Madison's family planted, grew, and harvested the perfect pumpkins we got at the Pumpkin Hunt last week, so we must show our appreciation.
Each student followed along as I wrote a thank you note on the board, and I must say that I am beyond impressed with the writing these students did!

They then drew a picture of themselves at the pumpkin hunt to go with the great writing.
A huge thank you also to Miss Ollie for the delicious O snack...
Oreos!! mmmmmm

Pumpkin Hunt

What a fun Halloween we had in PreK A!!!
Not only did we celebrate Halloween, but we had to celebrate the end of H week by wearing our favorite hat or headband.

 Two Marios!
Then the 8th grade Science class did a "Mad Scientist" experiment for us to enjoy.
We learned all about dry ice, and that if you add alcohol to the ice it makes liquid nitrogen.
Then we got to put gummy bears into the liquid nitrogen to watch them freeze.

They also put a rose into the mixture,
and smashed it to show us it was frozen.
Pretty cool!
After nap it was time to party!!
We began our party with a delicious snack that Rhys and his mother made for us.
Thank you so much for the delicious pumpkin rice krispie treats.
After the snack we went across the street and rotated between 4 fun activities...
Bingo!

 We made adorable playdough spiders,

 and cute crafty pumpkins.

Then everyone got a chance to hunt for a pumpkin of their very own.

Thank you SO much Jansens for growing and donating these wonderful pumpkins for us!!

 Happy Halloween!
