Trim the Tree

I am so excited that we have a real size tree in our classroom! Thank you so much to Lindley's parents for allowing us to borrow it.
We all had so much fun contributing one ornament to our tree to make it ready for the holidays. We've also added our special homemade ornaments...stars! Not only are these perfect for our class theme, but we've been talking about nighttime and the fun things we can look at during that time of day...stars being one of them.

We've also been working really hard at math center this week on some length Christmas trees.

Finally, I must give you the sprinkle report!

I added the kids names to their elves yesterday, and I think Sprinkle just wanted to join the gang!

Here's how I added their names:

Here's crazy elf man:

And...this is cute!

Leapin Lizards!

We've made it to the letter L! We began our day by learning all about L, how to write it, and the sound it makes. The class then came up with a most extensive list of L words...I was so impressed! We closed out our day with a review game of leapin lizards.
I said an L word then threw it to one of my friends. Who them had to say another L word. We continued until everyone had gone.

This was a fun way to review our day!

Say hello to this weeks Star... Rachael!

She brought us some most wonderful R snacks today!
We had raspberries and raspberry fruit leather (my personal fave:) for morning snack, and Raspberry cookies and Red Koolaid for afternoon snack. We also get yummy Red jello tomorrow! Thank you Rach!!!

Please please forgive me for my irregular blog posts. Things have been very crazy in the Selig household between observations at school, holiday stuff, and the big one...we just bought our first house! It's a major fixer upper, so every second I'm not at school...I'm there:(
I promise to continue to post, it just may be a day late sometimes.

December

Happy December!! Here are my 17 little reindeer.

On Friday, we drew pictures and wrote letters to Santa telling him that we've been good and we would love it if he would send us an elf to our classroom. I sure hope Santa grants us our wish;). We've got a fun few weeks ahead of us, so rest up and come back ready to work!

What a great Star Reed was this week!!

I have to leave you with a wonderful quote from him...
"Mrs. Selig, this pencil won't let me write an M." Haha I love my job. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
